Names aren’t what make a person American, any more that skin color does.
Amen. We are a major country unique in the world in that the only real commonality that ever defined us was founding principles. We weren't defined by race, language, or tribe. People shouldn't confuse the fact that some people who are not of European descent betray that by dwelling too much on their ethnicity, whether it be black power or whatever. The truth is that there are plenty of fantastic Americans of all ethnic backgrounds and races.
I had Marines who were black, white, Hispanic, Asian, whatever, and they were all my brothers. If they were scumbags, it was because of who they were as people, not because of their last name or race.
