Ted Cruz stands by his claim that Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell is a liar arguing, “Every word I said there was true and accurate.”
In a town hall on MSNBC hosted by the moderator of “Meet the Press” Chuck Todd on Thursday, Todd asked Cruz, “You called Senate Majority Leader a liar on the Senate floor. That has not sat well with your colleagues. Do you regret calling him a ‘liar’ on the Senate floor?”
“You know, Washington is an amazing place,” Cruz said. “When somebody stands up and lies to you, and someone else points out that they lie…”
Todd interjected, “He lied to you. You still stand by it?”
“Every word I said there was true and accurate. No one has disputed a word I said,” Cruz argued. “The reaction in the Senate is ‘How dare you say that out loud?’ They’re not upset that somebody lied to them. I mean, that’s the amazing thing.”
“If that’s the case, how do you stand working with somebody who lies to you?” Todd asked. “And how can you work with him going forward?”
“What I have done from day one is endeavored and it’s a promise I made to the people who elected me, I’m going to tell the truth, and I’m going to do what I said I would do,” Cruz said.
In July 2015, Cruz said about McConnell, “What we just saw today was an absolute demonstration that not only what [McConnell] told every Republican senator, but what he told the press over and over and over again, was a simple lie.”

Cruz is a wannabe insider. He is ambitious and decided to cut in line and the GOP smacked him down. That’s why he went back to Texas to run for office using the Tea party as leverage.
He’s just another professional lawyer politician who has worked on the public dole since he left college.

Oh my goodness, my poor misguided FRiend. Once upon a time before the mass consumption of Trump KoolAid, a candidate who was hated by DC would have been considered a badge of honor. “Liked” in DC means: makes deals. Period.
You guys bash Cruz for being hated and bash him for being establishment. In DC thise two things are mutually exclusive.

Anything done by Cruz will be given a negative spin as used as a club against him.

Ted just likes to streeeeeeetch it a little bit. He called it a “win”? Good grief. In the GOP Establishment playbook I’m sure it is classified as “a win”. Voters be damned. Oh, I forgot, changing voter results to what you want is “smart” and “principled”.
If you think Cruz is going to clean house, you are delusional. They hate him because he’s a jerk and not one of the chosen ones that have been waiting in line. He’s as globalist and establishment as any of them.
You’ve got that right! He just talks out of both sides of his ass and everyone knows it. Let Texas keep Lying Ted if they are dumb enough but America is passing on this sucker.
