A pretty good explanation of the reason FiveThirtyEight gives Cruz a better than 60% chance of winning California... And Trump has to locate 338 delegates and alternates, get them to commit to serving (meaning they have to be able to afford to go to Cleveland, pay for the hotel for a week, etc.) and file the paperwork in the next 24 days

Say goodbye to the Republican Party. Not only will everyone despise the party, only diehard Cruz supporters will vote for him in the General. He couldn’t win anyway, it will only mean Hillary will win by a landslide.

Anytime someone’s plans are described as a scheme, you can bet that something nefarious is going on.

Trump is crying but he gets 22% more delegates than the proportional vote; more than any other candidate. Without that bias, his lead would be much narrower.

Can’t run a campaign, can’t run a country.

On Monday, Trump convention manager Paul Manafort accused the Cruz campaign of using “Gestapo tactics” to earn delegate support.

I wonder if anyone's going to yell "Godwin's Law!" because of that... (*wry look*)

(N.B. That's an oblique criticism of people who immediately dismiss Third-Reich references--whether good or bad comparisons in their own right--by yelling that, BTW.)

Here is what the CA GOP estimates it will cost a delegate to the national convention:

“Financial obligations of delegates include, but are not limited to: lodging (the RNC requires you purchase all 5 nights), food, travel, and a $900 participation charge. Take into consideration that convention centers and hotels often have higher costs for food and beverage purchases than you would find at home. We estimate the costs for a delegate to range between $3,000-$6,000.”

So in a little over three weeks, Trump has to identify 338 people who are willing to spend $3000-6000 to serve as a delegate for him. That might be tough in south central LA, the Central Valley, other places where the economy hasn’t been so good...

Seems that Cruz is better at putting a winning team together than Trump. Trump’s ego got in the way and he failed.

Good luck with that. Ted "A Time For Lies" Cruz is mind numbingly stupid sometimes. It's political suicide. He actually tweeted this. It's as brain dead stupid as Obama's 57 states perfidy. As long as this is par for the course from Cruz, yes, Trump is on track to 1237!

65K Coloradans voted--they just voted against Trump. That's 11 elections in a row we've won.

“This is the last stand,” Schroeder said. “This is the battleground. And I think we’re going to win California — but even if we don’t, Trump is not going to get to 70 percent of the vote.”

Trump doesn't need 70% to win. WTF is Lyin' Ted talking about?

“Team Cruz is much, much better than Team Trump at understanding and taking advantage of each state’s distinctive primary or caucus rules to maximize its delegate tally.”

Blderdash, Cruz is winning nothing, its the GOPe neverTrump State political machine. And they are not loyal to Cruz.

Oh really?? And they have been working for Cruz for over a year, long before Trump ever got into the race, just as a way to defeat Trump? Wow, they must have some really good fortune tellers to be able to see the future like that!

I see zero signs anywhere in my area that indicate any candidate is the one.

I could see The Donald hanging ten before Ted gets his wet suit on..

Paul Manafort has more class than anyone on the Cruz Campaign and more credibility.

Evidently, it’s completely and totally unfair if Trump has to follow the rules.

Cruz is polling better than Trump in the head to head matchups for the general election.
