Levin: The GOP Primary System is Not Rigged
Conservative Review ^ | 04/12/16 | CR Wire

Posted on 04/12/2016 6:29:38 PM PDT by writer33

On Tuesday’s radio program, Conservative Review Editor-in-Chief Mark Levin chastised Donald Trump for insisting that the Republican “primary system is rigged.” The system is not rigged, Levin said, and yet Mr. Trump sounds like an entitled liberal demanding delegates from Colorado without having put in the work to win them. It sounds like Mr. Trump is demanding “delegate welfare,” said Levin.

The delegate appointment rules in most of these primaries have been established for nearly a century. In Colorado, for example, the rules for this primary process have been in place since 1912. “Has the system been corrupt for 100 years?” asked Levin. No. This “has never been a pure democracy” explained Levin. “We have a federalist system,” and the states determine the rules for their primaries. It’s the candidate’s job to navigate those rules.

Are there any links to Levin’s ratings? They have to be going down but all I can find is the link to Talkers.com and they’ve said he has had 7M listeners forever. His arbitrons must be taking a huge hit.

LOL, another BS comment.

I and others know exactly what it is which is why the bare miminum we expect is the right to select who represents us in our Representative Republic. Of course, since those who snark comments like the one to which I now respond believe all the little people should be happy with whoever our betters select to represent us.

Unfortunately, the Nobility is in for a rude awakening. Either this election cycle, or very soon thereafter and believe me, waking up to Trump as President is the lesser of those two evils for the Nobility to deal with.

As Donald Trump calls out the GOP for it's corrupt behavior, and the Bernie Sanders camp is fighting to take back the delegates that Clinton has purchased.........is there any wonder why America's Veterans have organized such a massive movement to restore our representative government? I hear people tell me all kinds of things, most of which they truly believe. Most of which, I just respond with kindness and let them know when they are ready for real change, we will be here, and we are a strength that most will not understand for a long time. We are Of the People, By the People, and For the People, a group of selfless servants that truly understand what an oath means. It is not about lip service and winning votes. It is about taking a stand for what is right, taking a stand for liberty and justice for all Americans. When you finally realize that the two parties are too cancerous and corrupt at the top to be saved. We will be here, ready to do what needs to be done. There is a ton of work and we are always looking for additional leaders that can provide workable and Constitutional solutions to the very real problems we face. This is about uniting the divided nation. This is about bringing government back to the People, where it belongs. When you are ready, just remember this. ‪#‎IAMSOMEONE‬ and so are you, together ‪#‎WEARETHESOLUTION‬ www.ChrisKeniston2016.com www.VeteransPartyofAmerica.org www.vpofa.org

I haven’t seen any links, but I can’t see any way this doesn’t hurt his ratings. Couldn’t happen to a nicer guy.

An open letter to America from the Pennsylvania Veterans Party of America Chair Gary Garvine: This is why to vote for Third Party: The biggest objection to voting for a Third Party is the “wasted vote” argument — the idea that if you vote for someone who will not win, then the vote does not count. Voting for a third party, contrary to popular belief, is not a wasted vote. It’s a chance to tell the country — and perhaps even the world — what your vision of government and society really is. But how do most of us vote? Most of us vote the “lesser of two evils” — a defensive vote, rather than an offensive one. So what happens after you vote the defensive vote? Well, then you have sold out your personal beliefs. You have become a political prostitute. You aren’t standing up for what you believe in by voting “the lesser of two evils.” I don’t know about you, but I’m tired of being a political hooker. If you think the Republican or the Democrat really does best mirror your beliefs, by all means, vote for that candidate. But if you don’t, and you still vote for them, you’re helping to preserve the status quo you probably despise. So What’s the Point of Voting? We vote to tell everyone else which choice best represents the direction which we want the country to go. When you vote, you gain a certain power that a non-voter doesn’t have; the power to change America. Hence voting lesser evil sends the wrong message; it’s sending a message of compromise. In effect, a defensive vote says “I will settle for a good America, not the best America possible.” I urge you not to settle. In other words, if you want change, then create change. The history of third parties in America is that they serve as the vanguard for new ideas. It is these ideas that make the world go round. If a Third Party begins to draw votes, one or both of the two big parties steal their ideas. The most successful third party in the 20th Century was the Socialist Party. While never winning any significant elections, their small but growing vote totals were a threat to the Democrats. Thus the Democrats, and then later the Republicans, adopted piecemeal every major tenet of the 1916 Socialist Party platform. So rather than waste your vote on Democrats or Republicans, cast a meaningful ballot that clearly says what you believe. ‪#‎VPA‬ ‪#‎VPPA‬ ‪#‎VPofA‬ @VetsPA www.vpofa.org www.veteranspartyofamerica.org www.chriskeniston2016.com

I think my views on this issue are out of the mainstream. On one hand, I agree that the party is a private entity owned by the GOPe and can make the rules. On the other hand, the unwritten contract with voters is that they allow us to choose the nominee.

We grew up thinking voters were “stockholders” in our political parties. I believe that notion was put forth as the smoke-filled rooms of the 19th century were not effective at selling the party’s “product” (the candidate). So the parties implemented caucuses and primaries, allowing the voters to evolve their view of themselves from “consumer” to “shareholder”. This generated more energy in the party. But the reality was/is that the game was always rigged from the inside. Like Henry Ford once proclaimed, we “could have a car of any color, as long as it was black.”

But what the establishment fails to realize is that when people who thought they were shareholders come to find that they were only consumers all along, with zero control over the product, they will choose not to buy that product. Of course, 4 more years of Democrat control could be the end of the nation, but a brokered candidate will not win this year. Unless the remaining conservative voters get that through their head, all may be lost.

The Constitution was “Effed” (as you put it) a long time ago. There have been longstanding promises by Republicans to restore/protect it. They have been more than wanting regarding those promises.

Why are you getting your thong in a wad about Trump being a “rich idiot”? Romney, McCain, and Bush were rich idiots too...or at least most of the American Public thinks they are.

Let’s put it another way. Have the Republicans -as a Party - fought to restore the Constitution to your satisfaction. If you say “yes”, then I’ll shut up and go away as we truly have nothing in common. If you say no, then why reward them in ANY shape, form, or fashion.

Lastly, do you think Trump would be a worse president than Obama? Clinton? If so, well, again, I don’t know what to say to you.

Levin is like the typical Cruzer. I’ve been trying to think of a way articulate it for a while. I think the best way to describe it is that they’re arrogant elitists. It wasn’t supposed to be Trump leading a political renaissance of America. It was supposed to be someone more like them.

But it wasn’t now, was it? So instead of accepting gracefully that someone outside of their circle, and with talents they don’t possess is the one leading the fight, they attack him because their pride is more important than the well being of the country.

Ever hear of the electoral college? You haven’t directly voted for a president ever. Trump had as much ability to take part in the selection of delegates in Colorado as anybody else. He chose not to. Instead he was laying off staff as soon as a state’s primary was completed. He is a pathetic candidate with a pathetic staff.

Holy crap.
Looks like Levin has turned into a complete GOPe tool.

Sad. Used to like him....

I heard a bit of this show in my car tonight. Within a few minutes Levin called Trump a marixst and progressive. Over and over. I couldn’t take any more. He’s unhinged now. A bitter, bitter man.

Crazy huh? Not only are they gone f*cktard stupid for Trump they are calling every single staunch conservative a traitor. Ted Cruz, Glenn Beck, Rush Limbaugh, Mark Levin, Sean Hannity...all traitors to the cult of Trump. They have completely rejected consistent defenders of the rule of law for a constitutional illiterate that has stated unequivocally that he will violate the constitution.
