No one planned for Jeb to be sidelined, but Trump did it anyway.
So Jeb dropped out.
Since he has suspended his campaign, they needed an insider to be a place holder for the delegates and that turns out to be Cruz, who will control those delegates until the Convention, then, after a few slight of hand tricks, they are slated to go back to Jeb, or maybe Mitt.
Cruz will never get to enjoy the delegates at the convention.
From my understanding, Colorado has had a straw poll, but this election season, the National GOP said that any preference or popular vote resulted in pledged delegates.
Last year they figured Jeb would get this popular vote and so he would get the pledged delegates.
The grass roots Colorado state GOP said “no thanks” and so decided to forgo the straw poll so that delegates could remain uncommitted at the national convention. They cited infrasture issues, but it’s more likely the state GOP wanted no part in coronating Jeb.
So, the national GOP changed the straw poll rule to favor Trump and the state GOP changed their rule to screw him over?
Or, did the national GOP change the straw poll rule to screw Trump and the state GOP changed their rule to favor Trump?
Or, is it more likely that Trump simply didn’t put forth the effort and organization to run an effective campaign?
Totally clueless. Do you work for the Trump campaign? They are clueless as well.
Go Cruz! I love that he is able to beat the GOPe at their own game!
You bet, from beginning it was supposed to be yet another Bush. This is how corrupt the election process is folks. Now all the flimflam men are having to change gears to ensure only an insider is crowned.
They’re going to fail.
