I am sure Trump wasn’t interested in starting a tie manufacturing facility. He just has someone making ties to his specifications.
No way a good businessman is going to start a tie manufacturing facility in the USA under our current trade and economic conditions.
Additionally, Trump doesn’t have tie manufacturing expertise. He’s much better off to sub the work to someone that could produce to his quality standards and pricing.

Your explanation is very good, He subs them out. Its the easiest way. He main concern is to get his imprimatur on some quality neckties to expand his “brand” and visibilty. Same as for golf courses, buildings and more.
But Trump complains about others doing the same thing...do you not see the irony/hypocrisy?
