I think the immigration you may want to reconsider his position. It’s actually a lot tougher than Trump’s, but maybe that’s why you don’t like him.
His position is you will be sent back and not allowed to return. Trump’s position is that you go back...touch base and then we let you back in. That’s no deterrent to others wanting to sneak in. If you expect self deportation you have to have a real penalty—like never being allowed back if we catch you.
Yes. I see the challenges with Trump’s plan. Personally, I believe the illegals should be able to report to consulates in their area. Most states have or easily could have a consulate for Mexico, Honduras, etc. That would be a more realistic reporting station. But I like Trump’s core determination and I believe it would make a difference.
Trump is the one talking and naming companies leaving the USA. I believe he’ll do more to keep those jobs here. I believe he’ll get the trade balance to be both free and FAIR. I also believe Trump would help create more jobs.
He doesn’t want muslim refugees dumped on us. Yeah, I know Ted made statements later but it was Trump that was out front again.
We can argue all the different social issues but, if our economy collapses, none of the other stuff will matter. I believe our economy is closer to collapse than most people realize.
Trump said that illegals (if not criminals) should get in line, not “touch base” and come right back in. And that any immigrants wanting in have to prove beforehand that they are self supporting. And that all legal immigration should be reduced until all Americans are employed.
Cruz, otoh, said as recently as 2013 that the border should be secured and all illegals given a path to citizenship.
