“Sanders by definition IS a third party independent who is poaching on the dimocrat primaries. In that sense he has been running a third party candidacy all along.”
Depending upon your perspective, you could argue that Trump is also a third-party candidate. He certainly doesn’t fit the stereotype of a GOP candidate.

Wouldn't that cause an interesting split in the votes? In that case I think the hildabeast would win because Trump would tear off more votes from (Romney) than sanders would from the hildabeast. She would have the plurality.
If the republicans consolidate behind Trump (or Cruz) they win because of the sanders peel-off.
