The party is over 150 years old, it’s comprised of office holders and workers devoting a great deal of their lives over many decades to their principles and building toward an ideal and a philosophy in political terms.

Alternatively, they're a bunch of greedy hogs feeding at the public trough.

In my few encounters with campaign staff they've barely been able to conceal their contempt for anyone naive enough to support a candidate without being on said candidate's payroll.

And my experience even there is quite different.
