Overall, Trump gets 22% more delegates than his proportion of voters.
45% of delegates
37% of voters.
I don’t know why he is crying considering that the system gives him more delegates per voter than it does to the other candidates.
Answer: probably a lot more than Trump.
The primary system rewards the winner more than those farther downstream. It is the way it is set up, to start winnowing out the field. As the process goes on, some of the states become winner take all, which helps narrow the field even more. It does make some sense. If you have winner take all early, and someone wins with 21 percent of the vote, that may not get you your best candidate. But if a leader emerges afte 15 states have voted, and 10 other guys have dropped out, and you are now getting down to the end of the process, it will help put an end to it to have some big winner take all states in important states, like Ohio and Florida. The party has to have those states, so who wins there should get a benefit.
Point being, no one ever raised the point you made in history, ever, when it was benefiting Romney, McCain, Dole, Bush, etc. It is a meaningless truism spoken by someone repeating a talking point, probably handed you by a campaign shill.
