Actually it depends on the polls. a lot of polls show Trump beating Hillary and on the ground a lot of people refuse to vote for Cruz (I am one of them). Cruz comes across and what people hate about Christianity - slimy, televangelist who lies and cheats while claiming he is ‘annointed’ that won’t play well in the general.
Once again the GOP is insisting on snapping defeat from the jaws of victory.

Funny, I don’t recall Cruz claiming to be anointed.
At any rate, I think the young, articulate, and brilliant Cruz will provide an excellent contrast to the old, worn-out Hilliary show. Trump, not so much - and Trump’s many gaffes have hurt him with the general public. Advocating torture, punishing women for having abortions, ridiculing persons with disabilities - he is frankly embarrassing.
I truthfully think Cruz has a much better shot.
