Donald Trump Could Be Headed For A Catastrophic General Election Defeat by Jack Mirkinson

April 3, 2016 T Donald Trump could be headed towards a catastrophic general election defeat if he becomes the Republican presidential nominee, according to a host of recent polling and analysis.

There were gasps on Friday when the University of Virginia’s Larry Sabato posted new projections showing that Trump could lose the Electoral College vote to Hillary Clinton 347-191.

Sabato is not alone in forecasting such a wipeout. Trump is trailing both Clinton and Bernie Sanders by double digits in some national polls.

I don’t know why you Trumpsters didn’t push Bernie Sanders to run in the GOP primary. Your only interest is in “screwing the GOP,” right? Are you planning to run Sanders next time?

God is not on the side of proud adulterers like Trump or rabid sex-club swinging people like Roger Stone. That is why the tide is unlikely to turn Trump’s way in a nation that is still fundamentally Christian, other than the dark blue leftist cesspools like New York City that love Trump.

Wrong, Cruz polls better against Hillary than Trump in every poll since they started. There hasn’t been a single poll where Cruz does worse than Trump against Hillary.

Trump appeals to 37% of GOP primary voters and no one else.

Winning with John Kasich would be like running Bernie Sanders and calling it a “win.” Cruz is the most conservative candidate who can win. He’s got the usual uphill battle any Republican does, but nothing he can’t overcome. And he does NOT consistently lose to her in the polls. He beats her often.

The only way for Cruz to win the primary is to steal delegates and disenfranchise GOP primary voters.

The only way for Trump to win is to disenfranchise the 63% of GOP primary voters who voted against him and wouldn't elect him dogcatcher.

You’re out of your mind thinking Cruz is no different than Hillary and will collapse the nation. He is a staunch conservative, totally opposed the leftist agenda of Hellary and Obambam and Sandersky.

Because Cruz isn’t hated by 69% of the country. The hate for Trump transcends party affiliation.

just as you might say you don’t believe Cruz has truly changed his mind on amnesty, the wall

Cruz hasn't changed his mind. He was always for deportation and the wall. This is proven on the record from interviews when he ran for Senate.

I think Trump should shave his head. He'd look more presidential and less like a freakin' weirdo, laughing stock and clown.

The voters in Virginia, like voters in Iowa, can be reassured that Donald Trump who campaigned on preserving biofuel subsidies, indeed campaigned on increasing biofuel subsidies, is unlikely to eliminate any federal agency.

Actually Cruz was instrumental in stopping the gang of eight Bill in the House along with the campaign of Dave Brat.

He has been acknowledged by Senator Jeff sessions for his efforts in lobbying the House. His efforts in the Senate though not successful there were invaluable in bringing the matter to the attention of the public and shaping the issue to be defeated in the House.

While Ted Cruz was fighting for you in both chambers in the United States Congress, Donald Trump was financing your enemies, financing the Senate coffers of rinos like Mitch McConnell's PAC which funds were used to defeat tea party candidates who opposed the gang of eight legislation.

Please, it's bad enough to slander Ted Cruz but to stand history on its head is cheap politics.

Sabato’s predictions change as the polling changes; he’s really not much of a guru, just applies polling data to project electoral numbers

Right. Sabato is the East Coast’s Karl Rove.

This is the lie of Ted Cruz, He never tells us why we should vote for him, He only tries to scare us by telling us how bad Trump will loose. Trump has vision and makes people feel good about being Americans.

In the past, Trump has expressed his opposition to gay marriage. The website of GLAAD has blasted him for it and called for a boycott against Trump properties.

The main issue I have against Kasich is his fervent support of illegal aliens. That alone makes him unelectable.

But, according to some of your posts, you seem to be just fine with the illegal invasion. You also seem to be a big supporter of the GOPe.

I don’t know why you Cruzers can’t stop lying and bullshitting. Your only interest is serving Ted Cruz, right? pretty sure Bernie isn’t going to build a wall, leave the second amendment alone, and lower my effing taxes but he’s no different than Donald Trump? You are one intellectually dishonest piece of work there JJ.

I’d almost be willing to push for Cruz to get the nomination just so I could see your reaction when Hillary stomps his butt.

Only very strong Christians will vote for Cruz and there ain’t enough of them for him to win with just them and rinos. If it’s Cruz vs Clinton lots of rinos will vote for Clinton.
