The original intent of the Constitutional Convention tracks the two dominant influences on the founders:
1) THE BIBLE
2) Precedent from British common law.
1) THE BIBLE: Citizenship follows the parents, not the place of birth.
Children born in Egypt to Israelite parents were ISRAELITES — not Egyptians.
Children born in Babylon, Assyria, Rome, etc. to Israelite parents were ISRAELITES.
The overwhelmingly dominant influence on the American Founding makes the place of birth irrelevant and the parents of the child EVERYTHING in deciding citizenship.
2) English common law. As much as 100 years before the founding of America, the British parliament was using the power of naturalization to define who is a natural born subject, and specifying that children born in foreign lands to British subjects are natural born subjects of the UK
Well here is a little Bible lesson for you... ‘Natural born’ is akin to a birthright. Jacob and Esau were twins, Esau the elder... hence Esau was in line for the birthright and the blessing. Esau thought so little of his birthright he sold his birthright for a bowl of RED pottage (lentils).... God made sure he lost his blessing. And God had it recorded two times ... Jacob I love but Esau I hated.
IF you are a ‘natural born’ citizen it is your responsibility to protect your birthright not sell it out to a fake usurper. Now, even though I do not have a ‘birthright’ natural born citizenship, I care enough for the God Bestowed Blessings and Protection that I am willing to stand against the destruction of our Constitution.
I forgot to add... One of my children is a lawyer... While in law school, he sent me an email picture of a page from one of his law school books... Guess who was noted at the bottom of the page? Why, Jacob and Esau... sale of an birthright/inheritance.
Here is a simple test. If Cruz had stayed in Canada since he was born there, would he be considered being a Canadian citizen today. If the answer is yes, then he is not qualified to be President of the USA.
