Trump’s ego is too large to go risky Independent because he would likely surmise the odds of him securing enough EV as being very low, and this man simply cannot stand to lose. If he knew it would make him a Ross Perot-like asterisk in American history and thus imperil his “brand”, money considerations will “trump” any patriotism and he will invariably slink back into business and entertainment. Apparently, they now hate Cruz more than Hillary.
