The Objectivists are right to oppose Trump with his incoherence and his corporatism. Not to mention Trump’s populism. As someone who has read Ayn Rand extensively, I also support Ted Cruz and I didn’t need Leonard Peikoff or Peter Schwartz (the best speaker amongst the Objectivists IMHo) to tell me.
That has go to be one of the highest level ‘ad hominem’ remarks to this day. To think that Trump supporters at large believe him to be some sort of savior, is to evidence yourself as one who is blind and who is lead by the blind.
As far as America being a Christian nation, the last I knew, treaties are still law...
The Barbary Treaties 1786-1816
Treaty of Peace and Friendship, Signed at Tripoli November 4, 1796
ARTICLE 11.
As the government of the United States of America is not in any sense founded on the Christian Religion,-as it has in itself no character of enmity against the laws, religion or tranquility of Musselmen,-and as the said States never have entered into any war or act of hostility against any Mehomitan nation, it is declared by the parties that no pretext arising from religious opinions shall ever produce an interruption of the harmony existing between the two countries. ...
Now Know ye, that I David Humphreys Commissioner Plenipotentiary aforesaid, do approve and conclude the said Treaty, and every article and clause therein contained, reserving the same nevertheless for the final Ratification of the President of the United States of America, by and with the advice and consent of the Senate of the said United States.
In testimony whereof I have signed the same with my Name and Seal, at the City of Lisbon this 10th of February 1797.
[Seal] DAVID HUMPHREYS.
[Bill of Rights]
The conventions of a number of the States having at the time of their adopting the Constitution, expressed a desire, in order to prevent misconstruction or abuse of its powers, that further declaratory and restrictive clauses should be added.
Article the third [Amendment I]
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof;
So if you are looking for a savior, might I suggest you open your bible. Otherwise, let's just stick to electing a constitutionally qualified president, you know, one that was actually born in the United States as the Constitution of the United States requires.
Beck came out and called Trump's wife a lesbian porn star, then campaigns on a religious, holier than thou campaign with Cruz. If Trump did that, he should be called out on.
Apparently there is nothing to stop Fidel Castro from boarding a boat headed our way. When he lands, he can run for President.
I was inclined to support Cruz early last year, mostly because of his superficial attention to returning this country to its Constitutional roots. I figured that if I didnt vote for Cruz, then I wouldnt vote at all (or vote Libertarian). Then Trump got in the race. I watched Trump with curiosity and more than a little scepticism. Then I performed my due diligence and investigated his past history and his present positions. I am not a Trumpbot. He showed insight in his policies and courage in stating the obvious that all the other candidates (including Cruz) refused to recognize. I was stunned by his ability to set the agenda of the race and watched with amazement at his ability to transfix crowds of millions that turned out to support him.
Now I see that the GOPe (including Cruz) have decided that Trump must be destroyed. The very cadre of GOPe crooks and criminals that have enabled the monster Hussein to deconstruct what was left of this benighted country, unopposed, during the past eight years have laughably argued that Trump isnt conservative enough to suit them, the very cadre of GOPe crooks and criminals that would have foisted Yeb! on us all, with all of the NWO baggage and illegal alien invasion that entailed. Even after Trump has shown himself to be the only candidate, yes, the only candidate (sorry Cruzers, but Cruz fits into this statement, too) that has put America first and foremost, they continue to undermine Trump in every way possible, even though he is the most popular candidate the GOP has ever had. This is just totally and completely NUTS!
I watched all of this unfold with utter disgust for the GOPe and all of its cronies (including Cruz). I now realize that the United States of America as a Constitutional Republic is already dead, having been killed when the GOPe and the people allowed the monster Hussein to be illegally and fraudulently elevated (NOT elected) to a tyrannical position of president with the aid of a supine GOPe House and Senate as this happened.
Given this, I view Trump as the last chance for what was once the USofA to rise from the ashes. If the GOPe and their henchman Cruz orchestrate the total disenfranchisement of the millions of people that voted for Trump through their criminal usurpation of what remains of the electoral process, then I will cast a write-in vote for Trump in a futile protest and watch the chaos that will surely ensue as this country will be shaken to its foundations in a way not seen since 1861.
Very interesting video link. I too am having a hard time understanding the emotional response from friends who are opposed to Trump.....I’ve found I can’t even have a discussion with them. I don’t understand the reaction. The Conservative people who are so irate over Trump, were ok with Romney(??) I think that a lot of the radio talking heads have fueled this fire of irrationality. It’s a shame.
Donald Trump’s theme song.
For what it’s worth.
And BTW, sorry, but you need to “Actually Listen to the Words”
I know there are some that either can’t or refuse to do so.

You don't get it. It is Trump who thinks that he is the savior of Christianity in America. I can't say what I think Trump supporters at large might believe.
The point is, though, that he will NOT be dealing in any way familiar to the Good Ol’ Boys who are the habitual denizens of Washington.
In other words - plain English, as I wrote before - he won’t play the game.
He won't make deals? If he doesn't play the game with the GOPe he will get no support from GOPe including being placed on ballots.
He’ll be forced out with rigged delegate counts.
It’s happening. The will of the electorate is being deliberately flouted by the republican ‘in-group.’
