At this point, all of the Nazi leaders and really important people are dead already. However, the “nazi hunters” have to keep going after whoever is left alive in order to justify their jobs, even if that means going after someone who was a green kid drafted by his country and ordered to do a nasty job, with the alternative being a gunshot to the head for desertion during wartime.
