More than two months after Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump claimed to have raised $6 million for veterans' charities at a fundraiser held on the eve of the Iowa caucuses, most of the organizations targeted to receive the money have gotten less than half of that amount.
The Wall Street Journal, citing a survey of the 22 groups listed by Trump's campaign as prospective recipients for the money, reported that 19 organizations had obtained a total of $2.4 million from Trump's foundation or associates.
Of the three other charities, one declined to disclose how much it had received, another said it needed to submit more paperwork before receiving any money, and the third didn't respond to questions by the Journal.
Fox Business Network first reported in late February that only a fraction of the pledged donations had made their way to the veterans groups.
At the time, FBN reported, several groups said they had not received any money. And seven of the 22 told Fox Business Network they had received a total of $650,000. Other groups did not respond to inquiries at the time.
Trump held the Jan. 29 benefit in lieu of attending a GOP debate hosted by Fox News. The real estate mogul had declined to appear at the debate, claiming that he had not been treated fairly by the network.

Excuses for The Oompa Loompa coming in 3...2...1...
“Coach, you said your team would score at least 30 points in this game. Well, here we are, end of the first quarter, and you’ve only got 10. Were you lying, or just deluded?”
In light of Donald Trump's record in which he has been accused of fraud by his students of Trump University in a class-action suit, tenants in his building in which multiple plaintiffs claim fraud, and purchasers of condominiums in his buildings in a suit in which Donald Trump has recently paid hush money, it is not unreasonable to ask whether Donald Trump actually profited at the expense of our veterans with whom Trump gained millions of dollars of publicity for his campaign.
So one says they are not disclosing how much they received, which could be a huge amount and it’s reported that only a fraction is distributed, yes 1/2 is a fraction.
It takes time to locate good charities that aren’t front groups taking 30-40% for the officers of the charities.
>>Fox Business Network first reported in late February that only a fraction of the pledged donations had made their way to the veterans groups.
What fraction of the PLEDGED donations have been received by Trump to be distributed? I can’t find that in the story.
I clicked on this link because I knew this would be in there:
Of the three other charities, one declined to disclose how much it had received, another said it needed to submit more paperwork before receiving any money, and the third didn’t respond to questions by the Journal.
Nice try.
How about the fact that there are expenses associated with fund raising events.
In only a couple months his organization raised, vetted and has distributed almost fifty percent of the Six million raised. I suggest that they check the return on fund raising events for the charity industry and they will find that expenses eat up far more than fifty percent of the money raised. As it stands RIGHT NOW, his event is already significantly more efficient than a vast majority of charitable institutions.
Let’s have a look at the books of the Bill, Hillary & Chelsea Clinton Global Initiative shall we? Of course not that is simply a $2 Billion Slush fund for Clinton Apparatchiks to use in order to feather bed in between government appointments.
They writer also willingly admits that three of the charities didn’t disclose what they received from the event. Is one of those charities a recipient of hundreds of thousands of dollars, even millions? We don’t know and neither does Fox News.
Just remember the MILLIONS they already received didn’t exist for them before the event and Mr. Trump was under no obligation to give any money to charity. How much of the money that Bernie, Hillary, Cruz or any other candidate ever give to charity? NOTHING!
There is nothing to complain about.
How much did Fox News contribute?
“Reportedly”; qualifier providing an journalistic out for any propaganda which follows.
How much $ did fox donate? Thats right, 0.00. How much did Saint Rafael Eduardo Cruz of Calgary donate? Wait for it..... 0.00 Troll fail, again. Why does Rafael hate vets?
They donated the exact same amount that Cruz and Hillary donated from there last political events and fund raisers. NOTHING!
Trump is the only candidate in HISTORY to hold a political event that gave money to an entity other than their own sucking maw of consumption. The only political event to give money to charity.
Fox News!! As bad as CNN, CNBC, ABC and a few other communists networks. When rhe pledges turn into cash the money will flow. It takes time to accumulate and process.
Application of your “logic” in this instance requires one to assume Cruz is a bought and paid for Crony of Goldman, and rumors of infidelity are true. I get it you don’t like Trump, but raising cash for a worthy cause is not one the reasons to dislike him. Get a grip dude. Hillary is the enemy.
Trump said a few weeks ago that a lot of the pledged money had not yet been received yet and as soon as it was it would be distributed. I believe him.
Trump said a few weeks ago that a lot of the pledged money had not yet been received yet and as soon as it was it would be distributed. I believe him.
Why don’t the just ask the Trump charity how much they have dispensed or already have in the pipeline?
Seems a far more logical route.
OFF WITH YOUR HEAD!
But raising cash and cheating the worthy cause of the proceeds is certainly reason to dislike such a grifter. Previous allegations of fraud against Donald Trump are relevant. Nevertheless, even with the benefit of all the allegations against Donald Trump which I have specified and many many more, I made no allegations of fraud on his part, I simply asked the question.
Even apart from fraud, the specter of gross hypocrisy is raised as Trump claimed time and again in the debates and otherwise that he was raising millions for veterans. I think our veterans and the voting public are all entitled to a full and open accounting from Trump.
Just as countless Trump supporters have done respecting Ted Cruz and Goldman Sachs-come to think of it they go beyond posing a question, they flat-out assert wrongdoing.
More logical but bad headline.
