From this perspective, being cruel or hostile to someone who comes out as being homosexual would be wrong, just as being cruel or hostile to the victim of a car accident or to a wounded warrior or to someone suffering with pneumonia or whatever would be wrong.
In fact, from a spiritual perspective, are those "gay" souls even alive anymore or are they also lost in the valley of death, like so many of us are, and don't even know they are dead?
Spiritually speaking, these interesting times are in fact the Zombie Times of the walking dead and the spiritually dying.
Rather than castigating and berating those souls for being damaged and suffering in public, or perhaps worse, accepting and even honoring that damage as being healthy and natural while legally forcing other to do so as well, I figure it's better to heal the soul's damage and true healing for the soul comes from the Lord.
After all, the Church is not just for the healthy. The Church is for the spiritually sick and the dying souls, as well.
Rather than the "healthy" casting the first stones at those who dare be sick in their Church, we each might find that our own soul is being healed along the way when we the less traveled, healing path illuminated by His Light and marked by His bloody footsteps.
Better that path to Love and healing, than causing greater damage to one's own soul and to others by going the wide, smooth, bold and more well-traveled circular path in the valley of the dead and the dying.
Here in lies the crux of this issue - most people in a church aren’t against homosexuals being in “their church.” Name me ONE church, when humans are within, that is empty of sin; you can’t, because as you know, we are ALL with sin!
If you drink too much, society, the world, and even scripture tells you that you need to change. So, therefore it is easier for you to see the error of your ways, and therefore easier to find the path to Jesus.
However, if the entire world and most of society is screaming that what you are doing is perfectly okay, and NOT sinful, then you will more easily lay and even wallow in that sin! And all the while, you will forever be blaming the “church” for your failure to come to the Lord. Oh sure, they point their hatred towards those within the church, but what is really the problem?
The first step to salvation is acknowledging that we are a sinful human being, that NEEDS cleansing. The homosexual hostility towards the church isn’t JUST against the “better than you on Sunday” crowd; their issue is REALLY with the Scripture itself!
My daughter has become a lesbian. I still love her. I love her partner, because she loves my daughter. But, I have told them, in no uncertain terms, that I believe what they are doing is WRONG and a SIN! So, until SHE realizes that she is making a spiritual mistake, she will continue to wallow in her earthly pleasures - as most of us Christians did, before we found our salvation.
Someone stated it PERFECTLY, earlier on this thread: as the sheep of the Christian church are getting devoured by the wolves, this Pope is blaming the sheep! Until the WOLVES decide to live violence-free among the sheep, no amount of “love” is going to change the wolves!
I just apply Occam’s razor....despite man’s tendency to sin, an x chromosome from the female and an x or y chromosome from a male denotes God’s intention that males and females should interact and have children and families. That simple scientific biological fact reigns supreme despite human moral misbehavior and a human’s ability to deceive oneself(or be deceived thru one’s own vanities and lusts).
Gays and Lezzies can bluster and transgennies may try to gain public luster...but the science proves it still takes a man and woman to produce a family cluster! The biological empiricism of the production of children can’t be argued with nor can the deduction there-of that men and women were meant to work together to raise such children flies in the face of the extreme denial the sexually perverted dwell in. They are deluded and seek to make the exception a general rule. For all their threats, though they cannot argue against the science....they may try to argue against God, but even the empirical biological facts won’t support them. Forget about the “so called” science of psychology and psychiatry; history has shown that those who are in the field can be politically manipulated to completely disregard what the harder science of genetics shows. The bottom line is that it takes a man and woman to make a baby(no matter what they are doing in labs now a days) and that those who are homosexual and trans are the outliers, the exceptions that shouldn’t make a rule, but are allowed to as our society’s moral degeneracy dictates otherwise.
Classical rationality says...male and females make babies therefore nature/and ultimately God, as one draws the inference, determined that men and women were meant for one another and that same sex relationships(sexual) are in disorder with nature’s imperatives!
We’ve allowed the mistake of ultimately defining our sexual identities by what we feel and not by looking at what we are! A lesbian may desire a woman but she needs a man to procreate...period; she is a woman, however disordered in her thinking!
