That’s key! If I attend a church but I’m privately engaged in sinful activities, then other believers won’t know and will be unable to help restore me. If, on the other hand, I reveal those sins and claim they’re permitted, i.e. not sin, then the other believers are forced to act. That’s the problem with many modern churches. They only know one scripture: “Judge not lest you be judged.” But that’s not even in context, or they’d know the church MUST police it’s own members. How in the world can any body of believers be effective with open heresy in their midst? The heretic will tear down everything.
Christ calls us to repentance. So long as a single parent admits their sin, who am I to judge? I only need to get involved (as one believer toward other professed believer) if they claim that sex outside of marriage is not sin. That would have to be addressed in a loving manner to bring the person to repentance and restoration into the body of believers.
Many churches have virtually no standards at all these days, and that’s probably why many of those same churches are also dying. If church is little more than a social club, why bother to attend?
Is that what the Catholic church is now calling sin?
"irregular situations"??????
Amen!!!
DRUDGE headline reports the Pope speaking of, “a time of ‘individual conscience’”.
Does that not sound like Liberation Theology, reminiscent of his Argentina religious culture?
Also, I remember Obama saying something similar, alluding to I think it was, “our collective salvation”, during the Reverend Wright debacle?
May the love of our Lord God remain upon you.
