It made me wonder, once again, if these clowns simply aren’t paid trolls, here to repress enthusiasm (and discussion) of Trump and (if they’re lucky) get an utterly unelectable candidate (that would be Cruz) in the “R” column.

I have thought this all along. Way back when bill clintoon was in the middle of his sex scandal, a lot of freepers got audited by the IRS. We weren’t kind to ole bill and Hillary Hillary surporters is who I think they are. Take a look at DU. the clintoon s sued Drudge several times and lost...
I have met some of the posters you discuss. They are in person quite nice and not paid trolls.. I believe the passion and frustrations of the elections just kick in .. and for the men there is always the testosterone element and for all the booze element that might ignite certain postings.
Now I can’t speak for all.. some might be operatives of one sort or another

I dated for over a year a Freeper (now on the memorial wall) who fell in this category. He was VERY bright(MENSA) , creative and did a lot of great things ... and we were writing a book together.. he was the brains and I was to be the “make it fun” part with graphics and asides. we were doing well with the project with he coming my way and me going his way to work or often on the road when we did FReeps together in DC etc.
I was blessed with any and every MS program imaginable as he had access to all from his relationship with MS. He loved my dog and would sing to me and play his guitar and my pup Oliver would howl standing next to him. We had a LOT in common . We really had fun.
but...
Why I decided to end the relationship and sadly the book —was his anger. He simply exploded too much.. never once at me.. but at almost everyone and everything else. Turned a lot of people off and on FR I would cringe when I saw his posts. Alcohol was not his issue. I cannot help but think it was partially the brain cancer that had loomed undetected.. but a big part was the ego, kicking in - uncontrolled.
He died of cancer that reoccured. This was about a year after I ended our relationship. He still called me many times a week and I think I helped him a bit. He got involved with a MUCH younger woman who moved in and unfortunately was a big frustration to him. I knew he needed someone, his family was pretty distant upset with the 30 year old younger gal now in the pix.
I went to his funeral in southern Oho and was saddened to see only about a dozen people there. This an indication of how he turned people off. He wrote script for Microsoft(a lot of what we use now is his work).. he owned Radio stations and broadcast. Made his most $$ owning towers.
I think a lot of really bright people just don’t have people skills or the persona to control emotions.. Health nut that I am, I think that a lot of the food additives and preservatives now used exasperate the situation
I write this only to say that when we see a poster and our turned off big time.. we don’t know the whole story... that is why I hang here mostly at this thread.. I really see most of these as maybe another “ray”.. I don’t want to judge or condemn
We all have our journeys, struggles and challenges. How much easier (and stupid) is it to take it out on unknown persons on the internet?
