Cruz, at a rally in Scotia, NY, just rattled off his top endorsements... and they were - not - very - inspiring.
Rick Perry
Carly Fiorina
Lyndsey Graham
Scott Walker
Jeb Bush
and then added Mike Lee and Mark Levin.
Crowd estimate of a thousand at a Christian Academy. The audience was polite, cheering and applauding as expected and at opportune times. In comparison to a Trump rally- the crowd was quite tepid. It was painful to watch. I believe Cruz is going through the motions at this point and cannot hide the fact that he is going through the motions at this point, and- came across as being (himself) uninspired by this self realization.
He knows how poorly he is going to do in the next five contests, and that the writing is on the wall, especially faced with the cold hard fact that he is going to be mathematically eliminated in the very next election.
Couple that with the fact that Trump is a force unto himself. It’s the equivalent of a major in the military, with 8 years of service, going up against a four star general with 29 years experience.
Lastly, if the hanky panky allegations are true, Cruz is doomed. It would take a lot of energy away from a person to mask such behavior, especially when such a person is in a public position like a leading presidential candidate would be, and for that person then, to continue acting as if it were not true. Lots and lots of energy required to keep up the façade.
Freepersup don’t get to confident Mr. Trump has incoming from ALL sides, I don’t trust the voting machines, I don’t like the fact that Trump is off the trail even if it is his home state, the general public has the memory of a knat, he NEEDS TO BE PUMPING UP THE VOTERS continuously!!! I don’t know what the GOPe has up their sleeve and I am VERY worried about him getting the 50% he NEEDS in NY!!!!
“The audience was polite, cheering and applauding as expected and at opportune times.”
I haven’t watched Cruz in a while, but seeing a few clips here and there and what I recall from watching him, he seems to pause when he thinks there should be applause or a laugh (and chuckles himself if he thinks he makes a funny).
Whereas, Trump gets a lot of cheers and applause and I remember him saying early on that someone told him (possibly Ivanka) that he needed to stop when there was applause as he just kept talking and talked over the applause.
I went over to the Cruz thread a little while ago and at that time there were 66 posts - some from Trump supporters.
