I suspect they will. Because their attachment to the GOP is fickle. It's based on the person, not the policy or principle.

You’ve got it backwards. Cruzers are the ones attached to the person against all evidence of his lack of principle and conservatism.
Everybody else can see elected GOP strategizing in secret with rich Democrats and call time out on this sleazy uniparty. Yet Ted “anti-Establishment” Cruz is just fine with this corruption. How pathetic is that?
“... their attachment to the GOP is fickle. It’s based on the person, not the policy or principle.”
And I bet you believe that! AS IF the GOP has been steadfast on behalf of those who’ve faithfully voted for its candidates of many stripes for decades. Why they are now doing everything in their power to knock out the guy their ‘base’ seems to prefer because he’s not “one of them.” AND, oy, will he rock the boat! Can’t have that.
It really has little to do with personality, but with how the political elites truly do believe they know what’s best for everyone else (while feeding at the trough) and only need the hoi poloi at election time. Conservatives are treated by the GOP the way blacks are by the Dems. And we’ve had quite enough.
