Yep. Lots of tragedy comes out of that “industry”. I’m still mystified how it became accepted and legal sometime during my lifetime. Another case of “let them come out of the shadows”.

Even with her smiling, it’s not hard to see pain and sadness in her eyes.

I always wonder what the precipitating event or thing was in life that turns the tragic person down their road.

I’ve concluded that the unifying factor that is common to all of them, be it Candy the stripper or actor Danny Pintauro, is sexual abuse as children.

I think it is common; Maybe I’m uptight but it is why I do not trust men alone around my child as policy.

You know, 20 years ago, I would have agreed with you, but over the last few years, with the degradation of the family unit, my bet is that many of these younger women probably came from a single-parent home with no father in sight. I'll bet they also had many a Mom's boyfriend who wanted to be close to Mom to get closer to them, as well, or a mom who was too much of a friend, and not enough of a mother to set limits.
