Trump has not yet learned to negotiate the minefield of discussing when women are allowed to murder their babies. That is not a disqualifying flaw, just a sign that he’s human and not a specialist on politically correct nuance (there’s an understatement!). In the case of abortion, it’s worth changing his words to calm the political fussing, since even the president and Congress combined cannot do much to change the law directly.
For me, errors on subtleties of abortion are not a disqualifying trait. Abortion comes down to Roe v. Wade. Until that is overturned, the details of an anti-abortion president’s position do not matter. Trump has said for five years that h opposes abortion. I accepted Reagan’s conversion after a few years and voted for him - twice. I am comfortable doing the same for Trump.
