Learn some history.

The FEDERAL government bought or conquered all land outside of the original 13.

ALL states following were CREATED by federal law.

Those states have NOTHING to do with the assets purchased by the FEDERAL government.

Land in private hands in those states were PURCHASED from or GRANTED by the federal government under various programs instrumental in the settling of the West.

Yep. Louisiana Purchase, Seward’s Folly (Alaska Purchase), the Mexican Cession.

Even though the Constitution specifically said the Federal government was to own no land other than ten square miles for DC and whatever was needed for ports and bases, it clearly purchased all of the west from France, Mexico and Russia when the Constitution was practically shiny-new.

I have no idea how they justified doing that without an Amendment allowing it, but there is no question the purchases were made.

As evidenced by the amount of blatant, constitution-ignoring corruption in the federal government today imo, basically everything that the federal government does and has ever done must now be questioned, including verifying the validity of federal ownership of land.

As a side note to land issues, note that one of the oldest cases of federal government corruption takes us back to the presidency of George Washington. In that case Alexander Hamilton ignored the decision of his fellow delegates at the Constitutional Convention to not allow Congress to have the power to regulate INTRAstate banking. Hamiltion loved the smell of money and cried on the shoulder of his Army buddy George Washington to sign a bill to establish a national bank and Washington caved and signed the bill.
