You’ve got it wrong, to my surprise and disappointment, Cruz has turned out to be the nastiest, sleaziest, most unprincipled candidate. I don’t understand how his support is so high.
As I have said and will continue to say, the Republican party despises Trump because he didn’t pay his party dues, get in line and wait his turn.
We seem to have forgotten Reagan's eleventh commandment.
1776, redux. Take it back; RATs and GOPe are the new Redcoats.
Is the Party even worthy of going on? After their morphing into RAT Lite that is questionable.
Outside the insider's club, for sure, and not so funny. They despise him because he has not paid his party dues, gotten in line and awaited his turn.
The GOP should despise Trump, because he’s not a Republican, shares none of the GOP principles and policies (such as small government and free trade) and just got into the GOP because when he wanted to run for mayor of New York, he knew he didn’t have any chance of winning as a Dem because there were too many Dem candidates. So he became a Republican In Name Only (yes, folks, that’s a RINO) although his bid for the mayoralty fizzled out early.
The Republican Party should never have let him run on the GOP ticket. He’s not a Republican.
That was my point - was responding to what Enlightenment said in the post just above mine - a lot of folks who hate Cruz are now in full anti-Trump mode because they see Cruz as less of a threat to the way things have been - plus, they will betray any deals he is making as spoiler and will likely be denied the nomination if he and they manage to stop Trump.
