Marijuana legalization advocates in Washington have rescheduled the infamous 4/20 holiday for Saturday. Organizers said they moved the event up a few weeks to call attention to the need for reform by President Obama.

"Due to popular demand, we're rescheduling 4/20 this year to 4/2 because Obama's been a BIG ZERO on cannabis reform," the D.C. Cannabis Campaign said in a statement. "Some people think we should not protest President Obama in an election year. But if not now, when? Let's make the rescheduling of cannabis a campaign issue now."

The organization also hopes their challenge to Obama spills over to the five presidential candidates.

Isn’t ‘pot activist’ an oxymoron?

Recreational marijuana is now legal in a few states.

I think I heard that California is going to vote on the subject, perhaps this year? Anybody know for sure?

If the nation’s largest state legalized marijuana, that will give a big boost to national efforts on the subject.

I heard that one of the legal states, I think Oregon, has taken in so much tax revenue from legal marijuana, that they balanced the state budget, and had a surplus.

ON the tax issue alone, I can see more and more states wanting legal marijuana, to have another tax revenue stream come on line.

There are many good reasons for marijuana to remain illegal, but, considering the tax revenue possibilities, and how public attitudes have changed, I would expect more states will legalize pot.

This is correct. The domino effect has begun. Unfortunately, it is not the same dope as before. New strains will make you think you’re a lame bat trapped in your own attic. Not too good ...
