I understand your post, and that it looks like I am being dismissive of Jesus’ example, but not everything Jesus did was meant to become a sacrament, hence we don’t see very many Mud and Spittle Eye Poultice Ceremonies.

Thank you for this clarificatioon.

Interesting that you should say that "not everything was a Sacrament," because in the Catholic Church this is not considered one of the Seven Sacraments, and yet I've always thought it should have been. (Say, Sacrament #8). Why? Because it seems to fit the criteria

  1. outward sign
  2. instituted by Christ
  3. to give grace
and He DID say, So there you've got all your elements of a Sacrament, it seems to me. I don't understand why this one didn't make the cut.

Now If *I* were Pope....
