Ted Cruz will deal Donald Trump an emphatic defeat in Wisconsin next week.
Thats according to The POLITICO Caucus a panel of activists, strategists and operatives in 10 key battleground states. Nearly nine-in-10 Republicans in those states chose Cruz as the likely winner of next Tuesdays Wisconsin presidential primary.
Among Democrats, Caucus members by a nearly two-to-one margin predicted Bernie Sanders would defeat Hillary Clinton.
In the Republican race, insiders said Cruz has surged ahead of Trump in Wisconsin thanks to GOP Gov. Scott Walkers endorsement and an electorate that isnt as favorable to Trump as those in other states.
Governor Walker's endorsement will help Cruz, said one Wisconsin Republican, who, like all respondents, completed the survey this week anonymously. And Trump's bit just does not play with the southeast Wisconsin GOP base.
The drumbeat of doubts about Trump is finally catching up to him, and Ted Cruz will be the beneficiary, added an Iowa Republican. Plus, Cruz is working the grassroots hard, knowing those campaign volunteers will turn into Cleveland delegates.[continued]

It is hard to poll for an open primary, and I’ve seen the polling focus on likely republicans. So, you make a good point, but perhaps they ask which side they plan to vote on, and then ask how likely they are to follow through, and then ask preferences.
I don’t know, but I do know that 2 polls, both with very large samples, have results that widely vary.
That’s why I think something this weekend or Monday will make the difference.
Silly because then the polls wouldn't fit the narrative!
What’s the difference, the idiot won Utah the whole month of March. Cruz has become a nightmare that we can’t shake. Anyone else would have been laughed at especially after the disaster on March 15th. Cruz sucks!
Wisconsin has become unpredictable. Lots of those from south of the border, Ill, have got the hell out of there and gone north.
Shhh! You'll spoil the narrative! ;-)
As a Trump supporter It will be a shock of Cruz does not win Wisconsin. Cruz has Walker’s support, Ryan’s support, the full GOPe support, Teump has put his foot in his mouth several times and the media has been non stop bash Trump. The issue will be the margin. A fifteen point Cruz win is significant, a ten point win is what I expected and less than five is essentially game over because of the states coming up on the 19th.
This used to be a place that young people could even read. I had to ask my son what the heck you were talking about. Thanks for living up to my tagline.
Favoring tax increases and including education and healthcare in his top 3 federal government priorities probably isn’t helping Trump.

Thankfully, the pain must not be constant :- /

Crow will be served on Tuesday.
I think Cruz will win quite a few more delegates in Wisconsin.
But Trump is going to run rough shod in the NE, particularly NY.
IMHO, the clear thing for Trump and Cruz to do is bide their time until the two of them together have well more than the required number, and then have Cruz throw in with Trump.
That is the absolute best scenario and one I am praying for and encouraging to all of them.

Maybe like a blind squirrel you’ll be right. I remember you getting worked up over Cruz upset in Arizona lol
Naps NONE of these poles are taking into consideration an open primary, they are polling pubbies only!!! The crossover vote is NO WHERE to be found!!!!
I keep saying that that is what their meeting last year was all about. What else could it have been about?
Obama just said that Trump doesnt know much about foreign policy. Well that should give Trump a few points.
We’ve known for the better part of two weeks that sCruz would likely take Wisconsin, which is fine, because, while it would put the final nail in sCruz’s campaign if Trump did win, Trump doesn’t need to win it in order to take the nomination, and this will likely be the last state sCruz places in.
You Cruz supporters had better think long and hard about the statements comming out of the RNC. They are openly saying now that neither Cruz or TRUMP will get the nomination.
So what do you intend to do then?
