Wikipedia says Ronnie told people he was the shortest commissioned officer in the RAF.

Great story, but maybe it's just what he told people.

P.S. It turns out the guy in the middle, a.k.a. the middle class, was Ronnie Barker, Corbett's comedy partner, a.k.a. the other Ronnie.
