The way this matter was historically treated prior to the monkey wrench of Roe v. Wade should be a good clue.

Formal penalties were minimal for the mother; potentially harsh for the practitioner. With the natural bond of baby and mother being so close, it was viewed as so illogical that it would be tantamount to doing violence to oneself, like an act of suicide or self-mayhem in its irrationality.

I agree with Trump but not in the way many may conceive it. I think these women are already punished; they punish themselves by making their hearts hard enough to commit such an unnatural act. They are already serving a sentence in a cold spiritual prison that they carry along with themselves, and should one dare to thaw a little, our indefatigable liberals hasten to their side to apply the deep freeze once more.

Stop the people egging on the madness, then treat it again as a madness.

Chris Matthews: [Mumbled remarks containing a spray of spittle]"...dork says what?"
Donald Trump: "What?"

One of the bigger flubs Trump made this week was when he was asked about the government's top roles.

Trump said Security, Healthcare and Education.

Far as I know the federal government should only be involved in one of those.

He also added that “Housing [and] providing great neighborhoods” is a function of the government.

WHAT?

“We need healthcare for our people,” Trump also clarified. “The government can lead it, but it should be privately done.” - Trump

WHAT?

Trump is an Obamacare idiot. Government has no business in healthcare, except making sure it stays out of it's way.

Trump said can, not must.

Obamacare was such a stunning blow, that to try to go from that immediately to a maximally free private environment, would be like turning those who have been dumped on their heads and still half dazed out of their hospital beds onto the street and blithely calling out after them, “Good luck!”

Somehow liberals have been fine with getting their way by increments, yet for conservatives we must somehow have instant purism or else the highway.

Someone has been shrewd and it hasn’t been the conservatives.

You’ve also got to remember that Trump is populist.

If these are less than ideal desiderata, consider that generations of people have been accepting them.

Consider how well YOU’VE been doing in separating school from state, when you criticize Donald’s portrayal of the status quo. Ooooh, I could have a lot to say about that, including the needlessness of the brouhaha about schoolteachers not being gospel preachers (hello Christian parents, they were never intended to do that).

This shows Trump is for real. If not they would not have tried to twist his words to make him look bad.

The media only goes after the good people. They protect Obama, Clinton, Soros etc.

So true, and why many of us support the Donald as we know he’s more likely to say what he really thinks than some weasel worded politician.

Here’s an idea, lets hold the MSM prognosticators to a standard where their comments/predictions lead to them being fired every time they are disproven.

Also, lets take them off teleprompter/prepared remarks, and see how well they fair

This is the problem with Trump. He speaks his mind. And sometimes makes mistakes. Unlike professional politicians who sound like a prerecorded message. Or lawyers who never answer a question directly.

“Trump is the gift that keeps on giving to Hillary.”

As the campaign moves forward I think Trump will change the way he presents himself. His opponents have plenty to fear going forward.

Trump is very willing to shoot on behalf of what he believes right.

His problem is that he often does so from the hip. I would hope that having better advisors once President would tend to minimize this problem.

I don’t disagree with the desiderata you imply, by the way. But no President is going to be able to move the country in that direction no matter how much rhetoric you hear. A Ted Cruz cannot be a great white savior from the north.

That’s because this is ultimately a church thing, not a secular government thing. If the church is vigorous, a wise secular government will make room for the good it does. Without trying to duplicate it.

And what keeps the church from being vigorous? Well what prevents your radio from playing the best Christian rock in town? You aren’t tuning to it, usually is the reason. Same with the spirit of God and people. People act like God is pie in the sky that won’t reach down to humanity, and then wonder why they stay distant from God.

/Rant over

Maybe neither. Maybe his ear piece malfunctioned, as it did when he was asked about David Duke!

He was responding to a question about a person breaking a law.

The question was multifaceted and designed to be trimmed.

Matthews as a long winded question statin the if abortion were illegal should the women involved in an abortion be punished? The reworded the question in shortened form. Should a woman that has an abortion be punished?

When his response to the question is talked about this is the only part of the question quoted. Should a woman that has an abortion be punished?

This is the lowest form of dirty politics and Ted and John ran with the shortened version to make Trump look like he wants to put women in jail for no reason.

I once was reasonably sure Trump would win this thing but I underestimated the depth of evil in the GOPe and their new agents, Cruz and Kasich, neither of which will ever be the nominee. Cruz oddly enough forgets that Mitch looked him in the Eye and lied to him, but now he will keep his promise.

Too bad. It could’ve been a winner. Now the dems are energized and they won’t let him walk it back.
It’s the only thing he’s walked back on

Not enough trust in us that most people despise this evil pagan unlawful disposable destructive practice

Fail

Beautiful! Quote of the month!

And welcome to The New World of Trumpistic Logic, where every conclusion is based on the postulate that Mr. Trump can do no wrong.

In a hypothetical land the USA where illegal immigration abortion is against the law, would you expect there to be a penalty? I would. Depends on the punishment I guess. Currently we punish them with Green Cards, food Stamps, Housing allowances and Social Security numbers, which seems severe enough for most of the GOPe and all the democrats.

Then you should support Ted Cruz, the sincere pro-life candidate in this race.

Did you try clicking you heels together to get back to Kansas, you seem to be in OZ.

Roe v. Wade should be a good clue.

Remember when GW first took office, he had the House and the Senate. Remember the one thing that never came up in that period? Roe v Wade.
