Speaking of Sessions, is he out actively campaigning for Trump?
This is something that’s been on my mind lately, surprised and so glad he’s talking about it, it’s much more important than it might seem...
Well, that's populism for ya:

Meh. Stupid generals. What do they know about running the Hotel bidness anyhow.
>BTW, I think only property owners should be able to vote. That would get rid of all the BS issues and voter fraud.
I’d open that up, in a graduated fashion, to the taxpayers as well. The more you pay, the more votes you get.
Course, I’d be open to ‘all’, but we know property isn’t protected in this country any longer. Largess from the treasury....Get that back in order (protecting Rights and property) and open it back up.
Disagree with all of it.

Sounds more like private(black) individuals getting home mortgages through special programs run by the Obongo FHA/HUD, banks, and FNMA/FDMC, offered only to blacks through black churches.
>> the model of the Soviet Union.
Here’s a couple of interesting and relevant historical factoids:
1. The KGB originated as the Secret Police of the Russian Orthodox State-establishment.

2. Remember that whole “from each according to their ability” idea? Well, evidently it got worked out and put into practice by another group on their collective farms (and central bank) down in Paraguay — before they taught it to Karl and Marxism got so popular.

It’s facts like that which render such a wise light upon the American founders prohibition against such state-established antics in the 1st Amendment of their republic.
“I HAVE PLEDGE UPON THE ALTAR OF GOD ETERNAL HOSTILITY TO EVERY FORM OF TYRANNY OVER THE MIND OF MAN”

Yep?
Yep.
Rejected? What makes you say that? My understanding is that only white male property owners could vote initially.
“I can’t believe someone is finally onto the n/ps....thank God for Trump.”
Amen Sister!
“The American Revolution started in the pulpit.”
Yes and no. Our Anglican churches controlled by the local vestries were very instrumental in starting and maintaining our revolution.
Our churches controlled by a Bishop controlled by the Anglican Church in England were pro King George.
Which validates your statement even more re what is/has been happening here since LBJ.
King George once called the rebellion “that Presbyterian war” because all of the Presbyterians went in for independence. As you said, the Anglicans were hot or cold, but you never knew who was a secret Tory.
In my area there is a local “Christian” TV station. The man who owns it is White & usually broadcasts local preachers & singers.
A few weeks ago he started airing services from a Black church from another town several miles away. The “preacher” cries about how awful that Whites treat Blacks. And he doesn’t always use the term “ Whites” either. “Crackers” & “White Devils” are some examples.
During one of his sermons, he preached that mankind came from Africa, not Isreal & that Blacks were the true “Hebrews”. I knew then exactly what this so-called church was about. They call themselves Methodist.
There have been several people, including myself, who have called the station to complain. The owner just laughs off our complaints & states that he can’t do anything because that preacher pays him to air his church services. The owner of the station is known for his greed & love of money.
It made me wonder, what is really going on in Black Churches? Trump makes a good point.
Trump is the only candidate that has talked about this since it was implemented by the Johnson administration. No one, talk show host, media, conservative think tank, etc etc has EVER brought this up. I was not even aware of this subtle muzzling of the voice of Christianity until Trump brought it to light. (and I have worked for several churches for decades)
Go to Chabad. We’re all conservatives and Republicans.
To be honest, I have no idea why small churches and para-church organizations even bother with 501c3 status because there is NO profit anyway. I don’t know of actual wealthy churches, some probably exist, but who are they?
Most of the ones that I’ve come to know are very small, maybe 100 people, most of those people are on chokingly tight budgets.
The last I was aware after talking to pastors, only about 10% of their folks support the church. If they could count on everybody to pay their 10% bill, there would be a much better cash flow, but that’s not the case.
Churches that build new buildings, or purchase another building usually have a separate fund for that purpose, in addition to their general funds.
There are many pastors who must hold an outside job, because their little churches don’t take in enough money to pay a living wage to a pastor.
I worked for several years for a para church organization. There were 50+ churches in our area, and church donations accounted for less than $10.00 per month..no kidding! One church gave us $100/per year..average that out over the course of a year! Our total yearly donations were $7,000 per year or less. Of that, $350/mo was a private donation by the person who owned the building we rented space from. Yet, we were a 501c3 org? I have no idea why.
There was zero money for staff, the director was even volunteer. All of the rest of the money went to purchasing only materials needed for the work we were doing.
I don’t know how other organizations fare today, I only know what I personally dealt with and can speak about first hand. And sadly, we’re talking about several years ago before everything went south economically. At that time, I tried to get my church to start a pantry, because it was obvious to me that we were going to need it. a pantry happened, but not at my church.
What does the whole thing spell? We couldn’t save their lives, and we couldn’t feed them, either. Not enough money/resources to go with lack of vision.
Taxes? I’ll bet if many of these organizations really looked into it, there wouldn’t be any taxes anyway, and they’re relinquishing their freedom of speech for absolutely no good reason.
The 501c3 issue is not so much the church not paying income tax, it’s that the donors can get a tax deduction on their contributions.
