My monthly report on Twitter follower growth over the past month for presidential candidates.
See below for tables.
Name | Twitter Handle | 3/1/2016 | 4/1/2016 | March Gain |
Donald Trump | @realDonaldTrump | 6,501,824 | 7,374,153 | 872,329 |
Ted Cruz | @tedcruz | 865,952 | 1,007,759 | 141,807 |
John Kasich | @JohnKasich | 195,165 | 266,107 | 70,492 |
Name | Twitter Handle | 3/1/2016 | 4/1/2016 | March Gain |
Shrillary Clinton | @HillaryClinton | 5,524,682 | 5,842,815 | 318,133 |
Bernie Sanders | @BernieSanders | 1,529,059 | 1,845,777 | 316,718 |
I’ve read that a large percentage of Hitlery’s twitter followers are fake. That should be factored in. :-)
wow thank you for doing this........very interesting
Wow, I didn’t realize Cruz had gone down so much...wasn’t he at 1,200,000 roughly just before his comments regarding the Chicago riot/protest?
I also did not realize Trump was so high...and gaining!
Whats the numbers for #Cruzsexscandle and #CubanMistressCrisis?
Cuban Mistress Crisis? LOL....
Speaking of those many twitter followers Hillary started out with:

Bloomberg, so I won’t quote, but the relevant part is about the tens of thousands of twitter bots he ran as a campaign dirty trickster.
Kasich may have more Twitter followers than he’s had voters. His 70,000 new followers are just a footnote compared with Trump or Cruz, but I’m still impressed that so many people noticed he’s in the race.
Wow, Trump garnered more new followers in March than all the rest of the candidates (both parties) combined!!!
Now, for comparison:
On 2/1/16, Cruz had 758,721 Twitter followers. I think it was discovered later that the drop reported for Cruz was incorrect.
Okay, thanks!
Fascinating.
