Jimmy Kimmels show aired a death threat against Donald Trump made by Texas Sen. Ted Cruz, a Trump staffer charged on CNN today.
Jimmy Kimmel To Ted Cruz: If he wasnt Ted Cruz, he probably would be reported and investigated by the Secret Service, Karen Giorno, identified by CNN as Trump campaign southeast regional director, told Jake Tapper.
It should offend every American. This is a presidential race, said the staffer of a GOP candidate who, two months earlier, boasted at a rally, I could stand in the middle of 5th Avenue and shoot somebody and I wouldnt lose voters.
This is not a time to be joking about the front-runner and essentially running him over and causing him harm or death, Giorno continued.
Last night, Cruz made his first visit to Kimmels ABC late-night show. He followed a guest who had showed viewers how to scare a pal on April Fools Day by taping a photo of Donald Trump to the back of the pals car, covering the back-up camera. Said Cruz, when Kimmel asked if he liked President Obama or Trump better, If I were in my car and getting ready to reverse, and saw Donald in the backup camera, Im not confident which pedal Id push.
This afternoon, Cruz communications director Alice Stewart told Tapper, It was a joke, on a late-night comedy show, adding it was no surprise the Trump team is going to focus on this.
CNN contributor and GOP strategist Ana Navarro counseled Giorno that the country will not get through this election cycle that Trump has done so much to plunge into a cuckoo crazy phase without the help of humor and liquor, so lighten up.
This is not the kind of humor we want, responded Giorno. My candidate has Secret Service protection for a reason. There are people out there that are out to physically harm him, OK? So what were talking about, another presidential candidate talking about backing over him with a car thats not funny.
Heres Cruzs threat: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OmI6JQz2M10
Graham’s comment was actually kinda sick- it wasn’t even said in a funny manner- as a joke- it was said more as an attack- of course he didn’t mean he wanted to actually murder him- but when you hear it you will understand it was not i n the same vein as what Ted and Donald said
[[When I read about Trump saying he could shoot someone or murder and still not lose support, I knew he was joking and using hyperbole. When I watched Cruz make this remark on Kimmels show, I knew it was said in jest.]]
Exactly- Only those who are prone to the vapors and episodes of faux outrage think otherwise
Why can’t you be honest for once? If Trump had said that about Cruz, Cruz supporters would be foaming at the mouth and the media would SLAM Trump.
Personally, I’m not bothered with what Cruz said. It’s the hypocrisy coming from Cruz voters that is angering me.
So you are amused at the thought of killing Trump.
I see.
Steve Douglas was in that one too
Stabby and Crashy.
Cruz may have been offered a VP slot in return for bringing Trump down?
More likely a SC slot. Or they just might be blackmailing him just like Roberts.
GET.
A.
LIFE.
Yes, this is true, but I wasn't really referring to the troll types. Yes, I wish supporters would stop being vile in their attacks on the other candidate.
Support for a candidate is one thing- even fervent support- but when it comes to bearing false witness the likes of which this site has witnessed over the last several days, thats an entirely different issue, and one that i take issue with them on- they are attempting to destroy a man and his family, and several women by sick vile spreading false information- The places their minds and accusations have gone to are disgusting
No argument from me. I keep telling people that they need to behave ethically, and rumor mongering and making up vile comments about one of our Allies is not behaving ethically.
Good post, #139.
