I was in a Kmart store yesterday that had 1/3 of it’s light banks turned off to save money. Not a symptom of a robust economy.
Well KMarts are zombie stores.
I’m amazed any of them are still in operation.
The one in our neighborhood has about 5 people per shift total employees.
Here's another: In December, I stopped by a nearby Goodwill and was stunned to see how many people were there buying clothing and other items. Some were commenting that they were doing Christmas shopping. That doesn't exactly speak to a robust economy either. The happy talk is just that. This economy is nowhere near what it's ballyhooed to be.
I think turning alternate banks of lights off and on has been a common energy saving scheme for a while now in large buildings with overhead lighting.
It’s called bi-level, or dual-level, switching of light fixtures.
You can get some sort of tax break if you install it.
