During Starbucks 2016 Annual Meeting of Shareholders, Starbucks chairman and ceo Howard Schultz expanded on a question he posed two years ago: What is the role and responsibility of a for-profit company? Today, Schultz asked partners (employees), shareholders and thousands who watched the live web broadcast: What is the role and responsibility of all of us, as citizens?
Schultz said he has struggled for weeks to find the right words to express the pain I feel in my heart about where America is headed and the cloud hanging over the American people. And he said there are times when hes had a hard time recognizing who we are and who we are becoming.
Two years ago, on the same stage in Seattle, Schultz challenged shareholders to think about the role and responsibility of a for-profit company. In the two years since, dysfunction and polarization have worsened, he said.
Viewing the American Dream as a reservoir that is replenished with the values, work ethic and integrity of the American people, Schultz said, Sadly, our reservoir is running dry, depleted by cynicism, despair, division, exclusion, fear and indifference.

Well he also provides free WiFi and a free meeting room or reading room that you can use for hours, free restrooms and a pleasant atmosphere with a wonderful aroma.

Yes it’s truly amazing how much business Starbucks gets. All I can figure is that it’s a place to sit down without having to order a meal?
This guy has some balls.

When his guys appeared to be losing, he started a movement to get corporations OUT of politics.
Now the pendulum has swung.
PLEASE stop charging folks like me TOO MUCH for your coffees or teas!
I like Howard Shultz’s biography. I think he is a decent man and has a servant leaders heart, but I was very disappointed when he cancelled his appearance at Bill Hybels Willow Creek Association’s Global Leadership Summit 717 people signed a petition requesting Schultz’s withdraw because the church was “anti-gay”
to make a rate of profit higher than the average rate of profit by improving one's product, or one's method of production, or by correctly anticipating changes in demand.
I am pretty sure that homosexuality cannot come about without some form of islamic like coercion into the behavior. There always is a coerced party or self coercing party.
What these hypocritical CEOs perfectly know in how they compel their workers to work for them is that of a homosexualist Kinsey type language. Many of those companies will coddle with communists because it is easier for them to pay communists to get good coverage and PR instead of doing the right thing is protecting true justice.
If a place like Johnson and Johnson stopped talking of carbon footprint and recycling, it would lose its ability to coerce their workers into making them save money. It would also get them the ire of communists who would expose their exploitation or disregard of christian justice.
It is a simple pay off
About just STFU and sell coffee.
