Yep, the FFL was full of Germans after the war.

I read that all of the Germans who became POW’s in France after June 1944 became prisoners of the French. They did not go to POW camps in the United States like the Germans captured in Tunisia. Naturally, the French did not treat German POW’s as well as the Americans did. The French “offered” their German POW’s a chance to join the French Foreign Legion and shipped them to Vietnam.

Yep, the FFL was full of Germans after the war................. also Ukrainians, Latvians, Belorussians et.al., many expatriates who were volunteers in the Wafen SS. There is a book about it, I believe it was called “The Devils Brigade”, it covers the French post war involvement in Indochina. The French needed people who were experts in anti partisan tactics.
