The establishment is using Cruz and his followers for now. Once it’s determined Trump will not get 1237 they will drop support for Cruz. There is no intention of having either of these folks be the nominee. It was never nevertrump. It was always alwaysestablishment. They will get their way as they change the rules after the initial vote and they can subsequently vote the candidate of choice. Pick your poison, Ryan-Romney-Kasich-Bush-Rubio. Watch the push for Rubio to keep his delegates. Ryan is making his moves and Romney has the machine in order.
And then it’s up to Cruz to stop that from happening. Let’s see if he has the chops. I think Cruz gets the nomination if Trump falls short of 1237. And he’ll win over the GOPe attempts to steal it.
But then with Trump since he has magic negotiating skills maybe he will still win in a contested convention. Hell if he can get Mexico to pay for the wall and China to start having fair trade policies...he should be able to win in a contested convention with his negotiating capabilities that he brags about.
