Neither was the Moose Limb. Police just told him to shove off. Note also that he folded pretty readily when confronted by someone who refused to be intimidated.
That’s the way to treat people who are disrespectful...get in their face and let them know your not going to take it, 99.9 percent of the people are stunned you would do that, then knock the snot out of them!!!
Yes. I was gratified to see some semblance of Belgian Macho, brief though it was. I recall being in Oostande, Belguim about 1982 or so. I was still in the Navy. I recall Oostende being a beautiful, quaint little tourist town, with many old Victorian hostels for the travelers. The hostels were painted shades of pastel. The town on the whole was very clean, and it seemed like everybody was busy working.
Off topic: During this time, soul singer Marvin Gaye was appearing in that town, on his comeback tour. Marvin was said to be trying to stay clean of drugs. The locals joked that he was too close to Amsterdam to seriously go drug free. Grace Jones was on tour there too.
Only two years later, Marvin was to be killed, shot to death by his own dad.
