When you or I were on active duty as enlisted men, what would happened if we reached out and grabbed a general or admiral to talk to him, if we survived that stupid action.

Many years ago, I did some contract work for the U.S. Army and I had to make a presentation of my report to a two-star general. I was told before the meeting not to extend my hand in greeting to the general unless and until the general did so because the general’s aide (armed with a 45) would become *very* upset.

Grampa, ... even after I had earned a gold colored chin strap an my service hat, ... had i reached out and grabbed a general or admiral to talk to him, I would not have survived that stupid action. It would have been a CSM or CPO that saw to it, ... IMMEDIATELY.
