An EgyptAir airliner has been hijacked and forced to divert to Larnaca airport on the south coast of Cyprus.
Flight MS181, an Airbus A320 carrying 81 passengers from Alexandria to Cairo, was taken over after a passenger said he was wearing an explosives belt.
Negotiations are under way but no demands have been made by those in control of the plane, reports say.
A local journalist has told the BBC that some passengers had been seen leaving the plane.

Thank You for posting this.

I hope that was after it landed.
And Egyptians wonder why tourism has fallen off in the past year with fear over security and safety.
I wonder what terrorist group is behind this?

Nah it’s those crazy Pentecostals who’ve teamed up with the Amish. Don’t worry ZEro will take action. After he reads about it in the papers around noon once he gets up and has his morning king size breakfast and stuff.
How do you negotiate when no demands have been made?

This might require another trip to Havana.

I went over to Debka to see what they have posted.
One of the updates speak of Israeli jets scrambled when the plane was hijacked and standing down when the plane landed on Cyprus.
The other update speaks to the plane making an emergency landing on Cyprus and the hijacker asking for asylum.
Yeah
> Offer em a ham sandwich?
Offer them a cookie.
Then they will ask for some milk.
At least they will be negotiating at that point.
