OPERATIVE: Yeah, two and the anchor. The anchor here is the absurdity. You know, the Enquirer story. Five women, shoving em in closets and on desks or whatever right in the middle of meetings. Thats kind of, thats, I just dont see how you hide or how people miss that kind of stuff. Thats Bill Clinton stuff, you know. Sex crazed. And Glenn Beck does this whole I got raped by Ted Cruz bit this morning and everybody on my staff got raped, tasteless stuff.
GP: Yeah, we blogged about that . . .
OPERATIVE: yeah, I know, and thats the anchor. And Beck doubled down on the anchor, said something about five women in closets and all that like I said, right? And then he sets the anchor really strong with a headline and it worked cause it was the headline you even went with. He said If this is true Ill drop Ted Cruz like a hot potato.
GP: Yeah. Uh huh.
OPERATIVE: So theres the hook, the headline, and then he sets expectations. He lowers the bar sort of so to speak. He says something like Look, if it turns out Cruz had an affair six years ago and came clean and made up with his wife or whatever, then who am I to judge. People make mistakes.
GP: Yeah. So how does that work then? Whats, how does that go with the anchor?
OPERATIVE: I think Glenn Beck just told the world the real story. There was an affair six years ago. One affair. Its over now. And the Enquirer story is so over the top that a single affair six years ago will look like, yeah, whatever. Its a perfect anchor, hook, and low ball. Perfect. Its what Jeff Roe, his campaign manager, does.

Ted lives 1500 miles away from Heidi?

Beck was saying that *if* it was true about one affair years ago, he would cut Cruz some slack, but if the National Inquirer story was true, it would show no character, and then Beck would have to drop him. Beck went on to describe the 5 reasons he thought the whole thing was not true.
You can hear some of it here:
Pandora's box.
I often wondered how a dope like that got a top management position at HP.
“Your blatant double-standard is duly noted.”
Your “blant,” but poorly reasoned support for Cruze is also duly noted!
LOL, yeah ,that’s what I was thinking.
And *you* are a calumnist.
I put about zero credence in that article. It reads like a bad script to me. That said, there are plenty of escorts in DC that specialize in the political class. Who knows?
The way he's handling this points to a bad ending in any event.
And *you* are an Alinskyite.
Yeah and we’ve heard for years (decades?) from the left about how it’s “different” if/when a Republican falls from grace or sins because Democrats don’t portray themselves as moral or (gasp!) Christian. Which is blatant BS, of course.
But now, the Trump fans are claiming the same thing re: that double-standard about Trump’s many infidelities. And notice how they are only too willing to take the rumors, innuendo, and tabloid trash as the “gospel” when it relates to anyone but Trump, and especially to Cruz. These Trump fans have more in common with the left than I realized. It’s becoming more and more apparent every day.
Well if it turns out Cruz had “one” affair, how could that destroy him and raise up Donald Trump? Donald Trump has had a lot of affairs and even has bragged about them.
He seems to like “Tuesdays and Thursdays”.
As a New Yorker, what do you think of Trump’s chances at winning the NY delegates?
That's something Cruz supporters will have to decide. It really has nothing to do with Trump.
Even tho Trump games clean....Cruz didn’t. Thsn Crus will gain the ‘sympathy vote’.
“As a New Yorker, what do you think of Trumps chances at winning the NY delegates?”
Against “NY values” Cruz? Are you seriously asking this question?
Its a rather volatile mix up there.
Adultery is forgiven if one atones. Murder isn't.
The catch about atonement is you make a promise not to do it again.
I'm a bit of a softie in this regard as I highly respect couples with children staying together and making solid attempts to reconcile.
I know how. Hubby worked there at the time. HP was trying to be more diverse and was promoting many unqualified women. I remember how he complained when they brought her in. Most of the engineers were furious.
“Nixon, Reagan, Ike had to be up there, no?”
Nixon 56, Reagan 69, Ike 62.
