Police arrested a 23-year-old suspect in a federal terror case Sunday.
Thats after they say he was threatening to kill people inside a Twin Cities Walgreens.
Abdul Raheem Habil Ali-Skelton is from Glencoe. Just last week, federal prosecutors said he was in contact with terrorists in Syria last year.
Early Sunday morning, Ali-Skelton was arrested at a Walgreens in Brooklyn Park.
5 EYEWITNESS NEWS contacted Ali-Skeltons attorney in his federal case. Robert Richman said hes shocked by the allegations of threats made at Walgreens.
He went on to say that those actions would be completely out of character for his client.
Ali-Skelton is currently being held at the Hennepin County Jail. He has not yet been formally charged with a crime.
The U.S. Attorneys Office declined to comment on Ali-Skeltons arrest.
Later this month, Ali-Skelton is scheduled to enter a plea to a charge of lying to the FBI.
According to federal court documents, he told the FBI that his last contact with members of the Islamic State group in Syria was in the spring of 2015, when he knew that he had contacted such individuals as recently as July 2015.
