IF his campaign bought the Melania pictures and gave them to the superpac to use, then its clear Cruz started the whole wife feud with Trump simply to try to create obfuscation because they knew the affair rumors were about to surface.

Cruz has shown himself to be the slimeball that most of washington has claimed he has been for years.... For anyone to continue to defend this man requires they engage in the willful suspension of intellect at this point.

I say that as someone, who on policy, probably agrees with Cruz far more than I disagree with him, but there is just no way to defend him at this point, he’s lost all tangible credibility with these actions.

Exactly right. If you believe Cruz’s BS story that Trump was behind it, then you also believe that Trump was going to torpedo his own national spokeswoman by encoraging the NE to name her as one of the mistresses of your #1 rival. Why would Trump do that since he had plenty of time to tell her “you’re fired” ahead of time.

I got the impression a month ago that Cruz, despite his continued claims to a path to victory, was saying that between Trump and himself the delegate issue would never get away from them in a convention setting where the old guard had them both denied the nomination.

The only thing that kills that is to have a blood feud between them that cannot be repaired. While I have little doubt that Cruz’s campaign manager is stupid enough to start the PAC onto the Trump wife photo trail, there may be some truth to forces outside wanting to create and promote a blood feud.
