We have had contested conventions just about every time we don’t have an incumbent. It does not ruin the party. That rule has been in effect ever since Lincoln—its founding .I am sure a few del. would change their vote if one is just short of the number. Eisenhower/Taft—taft was ahead and Ike stole the election on second ballot Thenks to Earl Warren. Goldwater was a contested conv. Nixon/Reagan was contested. Ford/Reagan was contested. Bush 41 withdrew once he realized Reagan had the nomination in the bag. Just enforce the rules we have (maybe the one that was only adapted to keep Rand nomination from coming to the floor and never should have been.

And this time, they'll use it to put the establishment guy in, which is fine. I and millions like me will then go ahead and vote third party or write Trump in and ignore the rest of the ballot, period. Screw the GOP. They've stabbed us in the back far too long. I won't be party to that any longer.
