From what I gather is that they’ll be deported, but can get in line to come back legally. That’s not an easy process though. My BIL went through it, as did my Shanghai-born lady friend. Took her almost 15 years!

But Trump has clearly stated that he is going to expedite that process.

Expedite can mean a lot of things. It is the “get in line” part that matters. That line is already years long because there are quotas for legal immigration for each country. Unless the quotas are increased by Congress, the line will remain years long. So Cruz’ claim that Donald is advocating a “touch back” approach where they go home and come right back is disingenuous.

Trump doesn’t need any action from Congress to Deport them all — current law already demands it, and that process can be expedited bureaucratically without Congressional action. Nor does he need action from Congress to build a wall — it was approved by Congress in 2006 and later defunded, but the approval to build it already exists.
