The French are much more realistic. The last French president elected President Hollande had both his mistress and his wife at the inaugural. Seriously! Everyone knew it and they were all ok with it.
Basically male presidential candidates need regular servicing as well as a wife to do all the serious stuff. They are kind of like sister wives. Maybe that is why the Mormons are ok with it and Romney is so supportive. Mormons have a history of polygamy and sister wives.
