I simply don’t understand why someone would run for office if he or she knew one bit of this is true. And I’m not saying it is true. But they run all the time knowing there’s dirt there.

You almost have to be a narcissist to run for President. Narcissist cheat on their spouses regularly because it is all about feeding their self-image. Basic psychology.
