“So what. Let them eat whales. We have bigger problems right now.”

Yup. Animals were meant to be hunted and eaten. Of course I’ll be waiting for those pansy ass freepers in the “oh no more killer whales at Seaworld? Yay! It’s mean! “ forums to retort..

The article mentions Minke whales -- some whales species are badly depleted, but Minke whales, no matter what the exact estimate, are agreed to number at least 515,000, and possibly higher.

300 or so taken isn't going to break the bank. How many of the damn things do we need anyway?

“I’m no ecological nut-job, but this does bother me.”

Yeh, I agree -

I don’t think whales regenerate at that rate.. so it’s basically,, enjoy it while it lasts japs..

and they don’t really live in a “fishery” like say Tuna or Crab...

Heck I was surprised there were 333 Whales on the planet..

I’m a hunter and a fisher - you want to harvest something - be smart.. my 2 pennies.. never eaten a whale, not sure I ever would - but C’mon..

These were Minke Whales, the most abundant, estimated to have a global population of 800,000.

Whales are intelligent and endangered and should be protected. I wish the Japanese whaling fleet could be converted to take mosquitos and wasps...

The Japanese are dying as a culture and as a race. They have absorbed too much of the West, have kept their inhumane practices regarding whales and sharks, and their youth are so caught up in fantasy lives that they are too weird to deal with reality. God help them to save themselves.God help us all, including the awesome creatures of the sea.

$$$$$$$$

Good to have info from folks that know..

I would guess the Japs respect the population for continuity?

Is there a fishery? ways to keep the population going? etc..

that’s the best way to shut down the eco Nazi’s..

I agree with both of you, and I come from a long line of hunters. But not hunters of endangered or near endangered intelligent species. We use all we kill.

This is disgusting if true. Perhaps...tired after travel and visiting my elderly father... But one thing real evil does is make people have less time or energy to care about the desecration of God’s bounty ...generosity of His gifts and how best to balance them.

IMO...hunters are the best conservationists... Sometimes off kilter market forces ruin it.

When. My Quebec husband was a boy, his father caught Atlantic cod...so plentiful at the time.. Now, overfished.

I’ve got nothing good to say about people who eat horses, dogs, whales or dolphins.
