That Trump forked over some of his own money to help Tahmooressi rebuild his life spoke volumes about his kind heart and charitable spirit.
It also inadvertently highlighted one of the fundamental differences between him and our current president: Unlike Obama, Trump actually cares about our military. Instead of just giving lip service to his support, he put his money where his mouth is and demonstrated via his actions that the concern he feels is real.

Would you say the same thing if Cruz had given the money?
No need to reply, your response is obvious.
Yep, Gil stated an opinion, I stated a fact.
On May 1, 1989, Donald J. Trump took out full-page advertisements in four New York newspapers calling for the return of the death penalty. Mr. Trump said he wanted the criminals of every age who were accused of beating and raping a jogger in Central Park 12 days earlier to be afraid.[84] The advertisement, which cost an estimated $85,000[84] said, in part, “Mayor [Ed] Koch has stated that hate and rancor should be removed from our hearts. I do not think so. I want to hate these muggers and murderers. They should be forced to suffer ... Yes, Mayor Koch, I want to hate these murderers and I always will. ...How can our great society tolerate the continued brutalization of its citizens by crazed misfits? Criminals must be told that their CIVIL LIBERTIES END WHEN AN ATTACK ON OUR SAFETY BEGINS!” [85]
That too. He’s been involved in a lot of honorable philanthropy over the years.
HUH?
This was done before he ran wbat a jerk to say that.
Yeah Sinatra was another one that gave a ton of money away to help people. Then I read about someone like Al Gore who made half a billion from the global warming scam donating $50 bucks to charity.
Should be “what”
Self serving? Read this:
In 1991, at the end of Desert Storm, a 19 yr old US Army Cavalry Scout Private who had just spent 8 months at war sat out on a street at Khobar Towers in Saudi Arabia. He sat there on his duffle bag with his Battalion around him for 4 days waiting for the buses to come and take him to the King Fahad Airport so he could go home. Unfortunately, the politicians of the day never planned for how to bring so many soldiers home after the war ended so there was a shortage of planes. Politicians are great at talking, but terrible at doing. Finally, the buses came, and took the young man to the airport. The planes waiting were from Tower Air. The owner of Tower Air had volunteered his planes and staff to bring soldiers home for the cost of fuel only. Happily, the young veteran got home just in time for Easter weekend in 1991, and spent that time emotionally healing with friends and family surrounding him. That Private was me. Yes but the steaks, the wine/sarc
When this was first acknowledged on Greta VS FOX show, the words made tears flow. With no inclination of the current resident of our oo to do anything to assist the prisoner, Mr. Trump showed far more class and heart than few would care to attempt to see. He opens his heart to all Americans. What a concept. Not just ‘talk’ but action as well.
Anecdotal, proves nothing.
If the MSM would let this side of Trump’s personality show, he’d be doing even better in the primaries and polls.
Cruzlims? Bwaaaahaaaaaaa!
Bought votes? It’s now obvious just who it is buying votes. And it ain’t Trump
Honestly, can you believe some of these Cruz supporters? It’s kind of scary.
Kind hearted, I think. In reading the article, he has been doing this when a desperate need arises, for years
From 2010 :
With Republicans believing religious and non-profit groups strengthen the safety net, the candidates' tax returns reveal their giving in cash.
The returns of Cruz and his wife, released over the weekend, show an adjusted gross income in 2009 and 2010 of more than $3.5 million. They gave less than 1 percent of that figure -- $28,000 -- to charity.
Asked to explain, the Cruz campaign told News 8 Cruz also donates many hours of his time to charitable and educational endeavors.
Friends of Teddy Bare:
I grew up in New York city and knew Trump since the early 80s. He has ALWAYS been like that, paying off peoples medical bills, paying off the mortgages of strangers, stuff that is never ever publicized.
...
But since none of them are IRS approved charities, they don’t count according to the enemedia.
Being military all my life - as daughter, wife, mother and teacher, I tend to believe that the story is most likely true. In a situation like the one described, logistics don’t always go as intended.
